Find the bike in the garage

This is first appearance of the bike

must be the original
I don't have the proper equipments
The chain, from 6 speeds  I cut and make it a single speed.

this bike has no brakes yet
At last..!
For this time, I was able to change tubes, tires and cut the chain.
There are much more work I need to do., still in the process of repairing.  Soon, must be complete.

..and the RED was GONE

Back to 70's immemorial, have you ever have a bike? to me, yes and  its very unique and beautiful.
I missed this bike, the bike was purchased by my lovely 'abah' (father) during my childhood. I wonder where are these bikes gone huh? sold, stolen or used as a scrap metal ? very sad indeed.
For further more info's, you can read the history of Raleigh Chopper beside this story.

I wish, I hope that 1 day I'll have this bike again. Pray for me yeah.
Have anyone who is willing to sell to me with affordable price?  No, I don't think so.

Rolling wheels with Bikepacker

starting point

On Aug. 31, I have followed a cycling exploration for 3 days and 2 nights. This trip organized by the DET-C that stand for Darul Ehsan Touring- Cyclist.

The route starts from Kapar to Kuala Selangor and Tanjung Karang with cycling distance 193.81 km. Here I do not want to tell you in detail, I just want to convey a summary of a journey and what is interesting / not interesting from the point of my view.

Honestly back then, I was in the uncomfortable situation due to my eye pain, so I am less likely to socialize with other participants.

What I have seen and learned ?

Participants came from a variety of ages, it will give me a positive exposure in terms of ideas and thoughts. Young or old  it's doesn't matter because the real strength lies in the spirit and will of the individual him/herself. If you wish, you sure do. Am I right ?

12 years old rider

all ages united in cycling
There are many forms of bikes and brands that I never knew, and I seem like uhf wow !, but it was not caught my attention because I know it is still called a bicycle. Ahaks!

still called a bike

Owh ! certainly I like to see the difference between, Touring bicycle, Road bicycle and Mountain bicycle because each of them was built with special privileges .
Touring bike with a relaxed style, road bike with the maximum speed and mountain bike with  gallant style when on a rough trails. Such a great stuff huh.

Once you're on the road this differences will be obviously seen. It makes me smile because, it's look like :  The road bike will sped off , mountain bike lags behind, then touring bike will call.'' Hey you! where you want to go, we're in touring mode, please slow down your cycling, otherwise you will miss all the beauty around you.'' ~ hihihi geez that'a lesson :)

Now I will talk about the routes that the organizer choose. Interesting because it emphasizes security matters!
The journey through the village streets, paved road, red soil road and rocky trails, so the participants will feel the experience through all conditions.
village street
path between the canal and rice fields

coastal route
in line
This time I can only feel cycling in the scorching heat. Yeah, of course I felt a little bit mental down  but I keep reminding myself about my cycling's main purpose. Keep moving girl, go go you can do it..!
When will I be cycling in heavy rain & thunderstorms ? uhf. that'a scary one.

Ops ! by the way , why I chose backpack instead pannier ?
The answer is, good to choose a hard way in the beginning, then on the other occasions, it will feel more easily ~ it was taught by my Mentor. Beside, looks so cool, stylish and perky huh ? c(:
The important is RARE ~ wee.

I like to be different from others

bikepacker style
However, thanks to those who concerned when they saw how hard I was cycling with a shoulder strain. Frankly speaking, I'm okay. Thanks for the suggestion for me to start using the rack and change the tyres. I will, soon. ;)

If I am not mistaken, I was the only one who uses GT bike. Yeah, the only Remy Ish Haq ~ unbeatable.
Eyh hello.. it's still called the bicycle lah ! erk owh alright :p

For the first night I chose to sleep surrounded by nature, no chalets, no tent but only the hammock.

Look! there are someone interested with my hammock
Just nice huh ? Located at Taman Ikan Air Tawar  (Coordinates N 03.33908 E 101.24534)

Place we stayed for the second night called :
Amin Homestay,
Lorong Berlian B, Kampung Parit Serong, Tanjung Karang
Coordinates N 03.42330 E 101.22910

What is interesting here is,  they have a  huge swimming pool. Hrm, but I prefer to sleep to regain my energy back. Zzz

cooling time
At night, after having a dinner there are small slot for bicycle workshop, speaker from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Mr Akmal willing to share a knowledge about the bike.

Mr. Akmal was showing how to measure the seat height

3rd day is the last day
Time to go, before that I would like to whispered about something. The whole journey was satisfactory, but there are things that increase the pain in the eyes and my heart. It relates to a very annoying dirty environment. Widespread debris dumped on the streets and roadside. So sad to see that situation. Which is one reason I do not have the interest to take any pictures. Owh my Malaysian!

If you want to know the whole story of this journey please visit this blog.
My congratulations to the organizers especially the GogoGuideDET-C founder and to all participants.
All the pictures are courtesy from to those who have a dslr, compact, ipad and hp cameras. Thanks for the images taken. ~ will be an everlasting memories.

The Warriors

'Warriors' means  the dignified and brave, courageous fighter, a feared warrior. While the Warriors' Day is defined as the day commemorating the warriors who died.

If taking into the expression 'the brave ,courageous and have sacrificed' in defense of national sovereignty from outside elements or occupied by an attempt from the left internal elements and groups who want to threaten stability of the country. Even if it moves not in a group of uniformed or otherwise, then they are called warriors for that matter.

31st of July has been declared as a day of National Warriors for Malaysia.
Armed forces, police and RELA together to defend this country from British colonial rule, Japanese and the Communists. Their devotion and sacrifice can not be repaid even by any means whatsoever, except we as the public together  help to retain peace in our homeland  to continue their struggle to not be in vain.

To those who have died during their services for the people and this country, may ALLAH bless all the sacrifices they had done.
I, as individual and citizens of this country really appreciate the contributions and sacrifices each of them. So, with all humility and great pleasure I would like to THANK YOU and will continued prayers for the welfare of all the warriors of my country, also not forgetting to their families.

'Sahur' is Sunnah
Fasting, is Patience.
Breaking the fast, that's Rewarded.
Aidil Fitri is Victory

In Malaysia, every time Ramadan, the atmosphere becomes more lively with the bazaars here and there. Muslim & non-Muslims together fulfill these bazaars such as food festivals.

Yesterday, as usual, I went to the bazaar, walking around the bazaar area while looking at the preferred food and the price shown. Uhf. RM10, I can get two items only. I started counting.. eh! not enough lah.

Back in 80's. RM10 is very large value. All kinds of things we could buy with that value, but now, the value was reduced, all the prices soared.

Which means spending in fasting month exceeded from spending in other months. Over the budget.
Owh no no no,
So, I decided to keep expenses not to exceed by forcing myself to be more diligent.
Uh! Today I've to cook. Argh ! so MALAS.
 Ngeh ngeh ngeh

Today's menu is ' Kuih Chara Buah Cermai '. This is a recipe from my mother.
 Let's take a look the ingredients :

granulated sugar
pandan leaves
essence vanilla
coconut milk

All stored in my memory ~wee

How to do it ?
Pandan leaves blended and then filtered.
Flour, salt, egg, coconut milk, vanilla essence all mixed and stirred with pandan water that filtered. Stir until none lumps of flour visible.

delicate texture

Heat the ' buah cermai 'copper mold with the cooking oil.

To be more fragrant, I used pandan leaves
Fill each mold with the mixture above, after that put a little sugar in the middle of the liquid.

be careful it's too hot !
And the result..Tadaaa !

A traditional cuisine

My main food for today just...

Only srimp fried rice & Ice tea

A tiring day but I am happy to see the smile on my heirs face.

Burbb ! Alhamdulillah. Oops excuse me ~wee

Has Been Lost Over The Years

Aidilfitri will appear, that is the biggest successful for those who knows.
And I, was thinking where is the location to celebrate with the children.
Look back a few years ago, when my mother is still here. She will make a full preparation for Aidilfitri.
Meal preparation, home furnishings, change a new curtains and the most fun when it came to '7 Lekor' night. Mother is struggling to find the pieces of wood to be used as a lamps hanger. All the wood will be driven into the ground around the house. After finished breaking the fast, she will come out to light all the lamps. Aha! a brightly environment. Marvelous. ~ wee

Then she will start cooking. She cook? owh no, I was tasked to do, so she just monitor my work. All materials have been prepared, so my job will be more easier. Ahak!

Ketupat, beef rendang, a spicy peanut sauce and ' lodeh' is compulsory meal. uhhf yummy!

Erks! I missed all that. Is this year I will do something ? For the sake of my children, perhaps ? so that excitement of Aidilfitri feast will not  disappear just like that.
Hrm.. will I ?

Lots Of Ad Please..!

Everytime cycling through the main road, I felt fear in my heart about personal safety. I am sure, not only me but all citizens who use the bicycle as a vehicle or who use for exercise will feel anxious.

Despite, having a special route for the bike, but still they who driving a big vehicles were ignore the cyclists, they directly drive so close. Hey watch out man..!

Frequently, they also sound the horn. The question is, on the what reason they sound the horn? Do they know that by their action, cyclists will lose focus when pedaling and likely to be an accident.

I wish,  there is someone who concerned to make a special advertisements about respecting cyclists rights. At the same time educate the attitude of our drivers in Malaysia.
 I hope..I hope..I hope.

Secret Trail

The first time I came here at night. The paths only lighted by a moonlight. The atmosphere is quite scary because the sound of night insects that never stops, makes me afraid.
I continue my way up to the waterfalls. The murmur of waterfalls has made me so excited until I forgot to be afraid.
Hammock was mounted facing the waterfall, making it clearly visible.
While lying in the hammock, I hear the music of nature like I was in a very lively orchestra.
The moon shone over the waterfall flow.
I smiled and close my eyes, been  imagined myself jump into a harmonious environment.
How beautiful that night
Secret Trail, the best and attractive place in the suburbs.

My secret place

Hey hey hey !

Always hear people say: "I hate hypocrites"
Did you know something ?
You only see other people on certain things and never want to admit that you, yourself  actually has become a hypocrite.  We are an ORDINARY human beings were created by the Creator, can not escape from the hypocrisy. I see you, you also see me. Want to admit ?
 Yes or No ?
Kindly see in ourself
I'm  sure we're shut our mouth.

The Simple Fact of ME

I am not a good person, I only do good.
What about you ?

Hey Little Totis, keep traveling.

No body knows what the little Totis went through on her period of life,
and is it necessary she recall all of this ?
Until this day, she continue to live for her children. The Totis put aside the personal needs.
Ya.., no doubt, big challenge for many ordinary creature is about love attention from the opposite sex, then
bad public thought about single parent and the stain of those who like to take the advantages.
She went through all of these with tears and smiles. Too difficult to live as a single parent, raising children with the best.
But hey.., she always think positively and no heart feeling or retain any resentment against what was thrown at her.
She don't CARE !
So, for a period to come, if given a good health, the little Totis would like to continue traveling. Traveled down the path of her life with the remaining residues of age.
Willing and thanks to GOD.
Moved on little Totis.., moved on.

Slow but SURE

Free & Easy Ride @ Bukit Cerakah

Today I am accompanying my friend cycling to Bukit Cahaya Seri Alam or Agricultural Park at Shah Alam, Selangor. It opened in 1986 with main purpose to demonstrate progress in agriculture and forestry in Malaysia.
Beauty and uniqueness of this park has prompted the ministry to open the park to the public. Among the facilities available are bus services, bicycle rental, car riding, jungle trekking, restaurants, camping sites and chalets. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday and all public holidays from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Well, let's look at the track here. The route is appropriate for me to learn how to operate the gear and speed more efficiently. Hills and slopes. Warning signs at all the corners down hill & uphill are also available. That's great.
Everything is here. If you want to familiarize yourself with the gear and speed , this is the right place. Uphill, downhill and off road too.
